Win98 - Sb Live value !

I got a SBlive Value card !
Installed the drivers on wind 98 and restarted the machine
Then I tried playing audio- but it wouldn't play !!
I chose direct sound as my output and I used to see the blue screen of death !
I went to System Properties and there I found in Sound cards- SB16 emulation with an yellow exclamation !
I doubled clicked on it and windows said - No free IRQ fund for this device!
I have a CD R/w, DVD rom,Printer,AGp card, keyboard and mouse as my devices -

I also have WinXp installed where SBLive is cool and no problems !!
Why so with win 98 ??

sb emulation uses irq5 by default & it looks like some other device is using that irq hence your problem.
try disabling one or both your serial ports in bios to free up 1 or 2 irqs see if windows uses the free irqs properly leaving irq6 for emulation.
in any case could you post your full win98 irq listings!
