Win98 not recognizing extra RAM (256->384)--known issue?

I just added a stick of Kingston PC133 128MB ValueRAM, bringing my total to 384. The MB recognizes it on bootup, but Windows only shows 256--is there a quick fix to this? I won't have a chance to tinker for a day or so, but if this is a known issue or a simple glitch, it'd be nice to have the answer ready and waiting when I check again. Thanks.

have you tried swaping the ram places? What mobo do you have and how many memory slots? if you still have empty slots try move them so first slot is empty blah blah blah, wild shot :p

Yep, i'd suggest you try swapping around the modules. I have 384megs on my Win98 machine as well and Windows sees it all.

What motherboard are you using and are the DIMMs single or double-sided? Maybe your chipset doesn't support as many rows of memory as you are trying to use?

It can't be a 98 problem...because I just switched from 256 of pc100 to 384 or pc133...and it's working like a charm.
