win98 ICS help

ive been having this problem. i have a cable modem which i want to share with another computer. im running win98 SE and want to use ICS. as soon as i install the second nic into the host computer, i can no longer get an internet connection on the host computer. any ideas of y this is happening? also, when i uninstall the second nic, i am still unable to get my internet connection back. everything was fine on the host computer up to the point of installing a second nic. any help would be appreciated.

let's see.. if your ISP gave you a static IP you need to manually assign it to the adapter that is connected to the cable modem. When you're done, you should at least have internet access on that machine.

After that, you should run the ICS wizard to set it up. It should be a piece of cake... message me if you have any problems.
