I'm writing a batch file which will defrag all local HDD automatically. I want it runs without any human intervention and closes itself on finish. Any helps are sincerely appreciated.

You can use Window's Task Scheduler to do the job for you very easily.

Thank you Talon, it is very helpful to me.

Andyhui, I know it is easier to do with task scheduler, but I have to work it on some legacy w95 machines.

🙂

Task scheduler came with Plus 95, and it also comes with IE4 and IE5, if you need them on Win95 machines.

But Plus 95 doesn't come freely AFAIK in my office. Because every machines are installed with Norton AV, I'm going to use its scheduler instead. IMHO it is better than MS's one.
