Win98 default folder view

Is there a way to make "View->List" the default for all folders in Win98 as opposed to "View->Large Icons"?

yes, open up a folder, go to view -> list to make it your desire view.
then go to view -> folder options (if you are using win98) or tools -> folder options (if you are using winme)
a window pops up. go to "view", and click on "like current folders"
walah, you are done.

notice that affects control panels and my computer also

You might have to turn off the "Remember each folders view" setting in the options also. Sometimes there is a confilct with the "Set all folders like this one" option.

Thanks. That seemed to help. I tried both suggestions, and while the control panel changed views, if I create a new folder it still is set to Large Icons. I'm going to try a reboot to see if that helps.
