Win98 all executable files have archived option checked???

I am visiting relatives out of town and I am trying to fix an annoying problem their computer has. Any .exe file that is run opens a prompt that is trying to extract files from the .exe file. I noticed that all .exe files have the archive tab checked under file properties. Unless I manually uncheck that for every .exe file is there another way to undo this association? I haven't been able to find out a way to do it under file properties or file types.

Search for all the EXE files.
Select them and then right click for the properties.
