Win7 System Restore

I used to use SR successfully on my other os's. but in Win7 I always get an error that says the system was not restored. This doesn't seem to make sense. I'm not doing anything odd and if it doesn't work, maybe we shouldn't have it.

Win7 probably has the best version (or at least equal to Vista) version of System Restore prior to the release of Win8.

You need to troubleshoot it and find out what is going on. On Vista and Win7 machines that I have it has been very good.

These forum threads maybe be a good starting point http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/...11?msgId=cf660507-a8c4-423d-b966-8f4a188ddf1c

In the meantime until you get System Restore fixed...

ERUNT might help you it's a Registry Backup utility that while designed for XP has been updated to work with Vista/7 as long as you can run it "as administrator" or have UAC turned off.

It's not as comprehensive as System Restore but it's something that can be used until you get System Restore working again.

I actually use both at least one backup with both per day.

And before installing a new program

Good Luck
