Win7 is a POS. When's SP1 going to be released?

I used Vista for 2.5+ years and had one BSoD and that was because of some PS3Server software I was trying to install.

Since clean installing Win7 x64 Pro less than 2 months ago, I've had three BSoD. No reason that I could find, just BSoD. And three system lockups while playing Steam based games. The last lockup, just a few minutes ago, required using a System Restore point.

Who would have guessed the Vista > Win7.

Alright, sorry for the rant, but does anyone know when SP1 will be released?

ive had virtually zero issues. power management is still hit and miss but other than that windows 7 has behaved well for me.

LOL, here is one for free.

Think I have had BSOD on every OS I have owned Windows wise,XP it was faulty ram then later Nvidia and VIA drivers,Vista it was drivers again but soon got fixed just like in XP,Win7 I had BSOD due to third party software(however it was beta version of Win7).

So far Win7 retail has been solid with 0 BSOD 🙂.

I think most Windows users have experience one or more BSOD over the years, only the very lucky ones have avoided the BSOD,again it can be casued by many things like I stated in my previous post ie hardware, software, drivers etc...(think I have had all my BSOD from hardware, software and drivers so full house as they say 🙂 ).

Logic should go like this.

Is current Win 7 would do the same, or better than my current OS?

Unless One have some old applications that what ever reason totally clash with Win 7, and One needs to use them, Win 7 is an excellent choice.

The thinking of I'll wait for SP1 without having any specific focal concern is what is called in Cognitive Psychology Magic Thinking.

P.S If One has an application that needs Win XP, buy Win 7 Ultimate/Pro/Enterprise.

Download the free lic. Win 7 Win XP Mode and you have Win 7 and win XP Pro running seamless.
