Win7 Boot Menu Problem

Two partitions plus some logical partitions on a hard drive. I have XP running on the first partition and did a Win7-32 bit install on the second partition. After completion and a reboot the 'select system menu' appeared and I was soon busy checking Win 7. After a couple of days I formatted the Win7 partition while in XP, intending to install and try out Win7 64 bit next week.

With only XP on the drive I rebooted and was surprised to see the Win7 boot menu appear. If for some reason one was to stick with XP how could this menu be removed?

If it's still working, I'd leave it as is. You can repair it using the WinXP installation disc if you know how. If I remember correctly, Vista and Win7 are much better at fixing this and XP requires more knowledge. It's been a while since I used the XP repair console.

You can also check out EasyBCD and the forums over at the dualbootpro. This can fix it from within WinXP. EasyBCD is free and does essentially the same thing, but the forums have useful info.
