win2k's scandisk on startup no workie?

when i boot up win2k and scandisk or whatever its called in win2k, comes up it says something about unable to scan RAW partitions.....whats up with that? and i have all these file problems in windows that i need to fix..lol..what can i use?

Haven't really been able to discover what a "raw" partition is, but here is a link that might explain the Win2k filesystem:

I have never run Win2k, so I am not familiar with the associated file systems.

Hope this helps a little. I'm sure someone else will be able to explain a "raw" partition and why Scandisk is unable to scan such a partition.

have any other filesystems on drives in your computer?

Also, you might want to try booting in the recovery console and running a chkdsk from in there

I have windows 2k, Mandrake, and another form of linux on the computer...my guess is that scandisk sees the linux partitions first or something...grr...

yep, win2k is going to be confused by the partition types that are non-microsoft... I'd guess its that, you should be able to run it from recovery console easily. Cant give you any other aideas, I've never dual booted win2k/xp and linux
