Win2kPro: HDD power down problem

My Win2kPro is installed with the "Standard PC" option and APM is turned ON. From time to time my IBM DPTA 372050 powers down but not regularly just from time to time, although I have those power options set to "never".
When I move the mouse it powers up again and everything's fine...

Any idea?

My bios is set up correctly. No power down from there...

For example: the whole day my HDD was performing normally without powering down. Just 5 minutes ago while reading for a few minutes a longer thread suddenly it powers down; I open the Explorer and it powers up.

Maybe it's because that you have an appplication or service that once in a while accesses the drive. It could also be caused by the swapfile setting.
