1st. There are 2 different file structures (if I remember) that you can use, fat32 and the other one ( I don' tremember what it is called) which one is the best to use?

2nd. I can't seem to figure out how to format the 2nd hd using there little built in formatting tool.... any help is much appreciated... thansk.

the other one is ntfs, many people have advocated using this over fat32, do a search on google for benefits, I think andy hui may also have a FAQ on it, not sure about your second problem as I don't have 2k on any of my machines, but if all else fails disconnect primary hdd and run fdisk off a bootable floppy (I think this will only give you fat32 tho)

microsoft knowlege base comparing fat and ntfs

thanks I have the fat32 vs. the ntfs solved... next questino is anyone know about the formatting of them? I know int he past I have used win2k and I formatted the drive but I couldn't get the 2nd drive to format with it. I had to use like a boot up disc from somewhere.

Control panal>Administrative tools>Computer management>Disk management> Right click the drive in the upper pane. Dont format the system drive!
