I currently have Windows 2000, and due to several problems, I need reinstall my OS. However, I would like to upgrade to Windows XP.
- I understand that you have to use XP professional if you are upgrading from 2000?
- Also, if I want to do a clean install (i.e. totally erasing windows 2000 and starting from scratch with XP, do I have to buy the full version?
- Even if I own 2000, but just don't want it on my computer any more? Thanks.
- Is there anything I should download first before I get XP (drivers and the such). Any other help?

True. See Q292607.

No. You can present your current W2K media as a qualifying upgrade product.

Not that I know of. Fire away and download updates after it's installed.

Is there any way to move all my programs to windows xp, but still delete my old Oses? I am going to install XP on a new partition, and it is ok to use the old one (with the os and the programs) just for the programs.
