Hi, my comp is DFI K6BV3+ SS7, K6-3 450, 384 SDRAM pc100, 1 hd 6.4GB Seagate, 1DVD ROM, 1 CDRW, SBLive value, RivaTNT2, and 1 TV tuner, and 1 internal hardware modem ISA). When I used my comp, sometimes I experienced a hard lock up. what I mean by hard lockup is that the comp. lock up completely. the mouse desn't move at all, and sometimes from the speaker there was a funny noise, but sometimes don't. Well, my PS is an old AT PS (200 watts). Does the lockup is caused by the PS? what is the symptoms of a comp. suffer from not enough power supply? or is it because of irq sharing (sblive & tv tuner share irq 10). but if it is caused by the irq sharing, why the lockup occur intermittently (sometimes when I watch the TV, sometimes when I don't)?

It sounds like one of two things:

1) IRQ conflict. You have a bunch of devices, and IRQs aren't always assigned intelligently, especially if you let Win2K do it.

2) Driver issue. I know the SB Live has some driver issues with Win2K. Do you have the latest drivers for it? If not, you should try them.

BTW, did you ever have such issues with any other OS aside from Win2K? If you didn't have these issues before Win2K, chances are it is not an issue related to power (unless you installed more components since).

Last time when I used win98 there was no prob. but at that time I haven't got radio/tv tuner yet.
just now I tried to run a few things together:
radio(so the tv/radio tuner and sblive works)
download a file (so modem and hard disk work)
play winamp (so sblive work)
erase one CD-RW (so Cd-RW work)
play Airxonix, a 3d game (so 3d work and video card draw more power)
now that I post this site, I haven't rebooted yet, and everything worked fine ;)

tried to change so that tv tuner share irq with usb and rivatnt2. I guess that's not a power problem. I'll post the result later.
