OK I'm installing Win2k Pro for the fitrst time and am running into some wierd stuff. For starters I can't seem to load drivers for my Quadro modded GrForce DDR vid card. says "Install Engine failed to load iKernel.exe"

I tried to install SP2 and it says there is an error and couldn't update the registery to complete the task.

Any help, or links will be appreciated.

Thanks

Yes I am the administrator. There are no native drivers for GeForce so I'm going to wait till the Matrox G450 I bought arrives then install that. I might try a voodoo, or TNT in the mean time. Keeps giving me "error occurred data is invalid" when I try to load a driver. Starting to tick me off as it's wasting precious time.

This is an "InstallShield" software issue, not a hardware issue. Try doing a manual install of the drivers vs. using anything labeled "setup.exe"...you should be able to install geforce drivers without using a setup program. Win2K needs to see "inf" file to install the drivers. Extract the drivers to a folder and then choose the "Have Disk" option to install them, pointing win2k to the extracted drivers.

I put a Voodoo3 in it and the native drivers fired it right up. I'll try your advice when I get over the new of it. Thanks -
