Any updates on how this is running for you guys??

(Hoping that the reason we haven't heard back with any results was that the service pack somehow killed the users and computers)
 
I have it, just will install it on the 6th or later.....whenever I get my new system up--CANT WAIT FOR MY CASE! Somewhere between San Antonio and LA-Grande Vista...or says UPS, maybe Grande Vista which they call Los Angeles? Because it says CA is where it's going, but whatever...a couple more days 😀
When I downloaded and installed SP2, it killed the systemn im on right now. Had to format/reinstall OS. Ah well, thank god for Partition Magic and Partitions!
 
i have about 15 mins of the download left....i'm gonna install it on the laptop that i'm formatting right now. I'll let ya'll know 😉
 
Well, if it screws things up beyond belief, that's ok. I was gonna format anyway. 1hr 54min left @ 16.0KB. If this were off an MS server, I'd be getting around 5-6 megabits. SHAZBOT! 😀
 
Well i installed it, seems to be running fine. If you install it be sure to select back up files so you can uninstall.

anyone know if this time ( SP3 ) that hard disk issue will be fixed ?

i had to go XP cause win2k was shutting down too fast and damaging my hard disk ... as it powers off an ATX case ...

had to put the old HD on another pc to not lose it ...

I downloaded and installed the SP3 on my box at work this tuesday and here is what happened:
1. After the install it prompted me to reboot which I did.
2. Every time it booted from than on I got an error message that an entrypoint in a system dll was not found, however windows would load.
3. Wen. morning I started noticing some wierd things with my machine, for example I could not get the file sharing, or a handfull of other services to start even after trying manually to start them from the services snap-in.
4. I got sick of messing with it and ran an uninstall that afternoon (fortunetly that went without a hitch).

I have decided to stick with SP2 until they come out with another release, I would report this to MS however considering I just downloaded the beta SP off the web and am not part of the beta testing group I will just report to Anandtech!

eh? how so? new hd's don't crash heads when powered off suddenly anymore.

ps: how to get those updates and save them on the hard disk ? i can download everything again everytime i reinstall ... any new about official sp3 ?
