Ahh what the hell, I've nothing better to do tonight anyway.

I've got a fresh Win2K install here (just installed last night), currently running SP2.

I'll drop this in & see what happens.

Worst case scenario?

Zap the drive & start over again.

[EDIT]Blah, their server is slow.

Hey Viper, how big is SP2? Ive been running W2K Pro for like 5-6 months but never got around to downloading SP2 (damn 56K). I downloaded the SP2 Express Install that was ~500KB but I think that just gives you the option of deciding which parts you want to install or not. The whole SP2 seems to be aroun 80MB+ last time I read.

Exact same as what I'm getting.

This is gonna take a while, but if it's decent I'll put it somewhere faster.

I won't know tonight, I have no intentions of being up until 1 waiting for a download.

Don't sound too appealing....I'm waiting for it to go Gold befor patching my Terminal Server.

It make you wonder why business go with MS for server when it take them 2 years to fix a major bug from TSL key. And the it need the latest SP2 from microsoft.com to activate the TSL. The SP2 on the Server CD is a no go even with full roll-up patch from microsoft.com.

Maybe business owner will see the light and convert to Linux, MySQL, Apache, LTSP, & Open Office.

Not a big deal, but you might want to take notice of the date.

This Beta Service Pack appears to be 5.5 months old already..

Just how "official" is this website? "iexbeta.com"? Maybe I just need to tighten my tinfoil hat here, but because some website has some official looking Microsoft graphics, doesn't mean that the binary files you're downloading are actually what they say they are.

I would wonder the same, but I have nothing to lose.

I can re-do what I have on my system right now in a matter of a couple hours (formatting the new 120 gig WD takes a while

). I figure it's better that I screw my box up than someone else.

I installed this "beta" service back months ago when it came out. It's been rock solid. My computer never ever crashes.

I strongly recommend it!

when you install the service packs, do you have to install 1 AND 2 AND 3 etc... or do you just install the latest one?
