Well Server is made for just that... using it as a server, for example a web server, if you run IIS with Pro, you can only have max 10 connection to the comp, while with server i think it's unlimited (but either way it's more). Also, there are more server use programs, I think. It's also been enhanced to run with networks. However, I've heard software such as games run better on Pro, as Server is meant more so for business.

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of the above info.

With server you can setup active directory and make a domain controller. You can also setup dhcp, dns, wins, terminal services, rras servers. A bunch of stuff that you can only do to a much lower extent with pro. It also allows you much more control over users with active directory such as security policies, group policies, lots of things. If you are just going to run programs and play games, keep pro, it will run much faster.

I am running Windows 2000 Professional and setup IIS 5.0 to host my website on my computer (static IP address). I can't seem to publish to my subwebs using Frontpage 2000, I get the error 404 Not Found, The requested URL /whatever was not found on this server.

Can I have subwebs with Windows 2000 Professional or do I need Windows 2000 Server? My site at mydomain.com works fine but I want to add mydomain.com/whatever

Thanks for any help!...I'm new at this

Oh btw, I do have the Frontpage sever extensions installed. When I open Default Web Site with Frontpage it opens fine, but causes the error above when trying to open a virtual directory or subweb.
