hi,
got a couple of questions for ya...
1. when installing active directory with dns and dhcp, i'm asked to enter a group name, and, if i have a registered domain to enter that as well. i always end up with something funky like groupname.domain.com. when i run a mail server on this machine my addresses always come out like that as well. i hate it. :| is there a work around for this? i'd just like domain.com
2. the default ip scop for dhcp is something like 10.0.0.1. i have deleted that in put my own scope in such as 192.168... my question is, how the #$%^&*( do i get rid of the ip address for my domain!? in the dhcp mmc it's listed with 169.254... in spite of changing this in the network properties and, that i see this change reflected using ipconfig /all, it still doesn't change. what the %^&*!
3. last question....i understand how to setup win2k server to feed a dns server address to clients at logon, but how does one do this for the default gateway?
thanks,
k
