Finally got around to putting all the parts in my sx-830 case to build a server for the house. Everything installed fine, os is in and seems fine. Shut it down to install the nic (board is a tyan tiger 100 w/2 pII 350's) and when I reboot it will get to the "starting windows" screen with the white bar graph at the bottom. When it gets all the way to the right side of the screen it reboots. WTF? Any suggestions?

i had a problem similar to this with my 1ghz XP machine. one day i rebooted and it got to the login screen and restarted and kept doing this over and over. i was at a friends house so i took it home and hooked it up and it still wouldn't boot, so i left it unplugged for two hours, plugged it back in and it worked. no idea what caused it. i had just installed a new hard drive and an NIC, but i don't know what caused it or if it was either one of those two components.

i feel for ya man :(

The only thing I did was shutdown, plug in the .95 belkin nic (yea dell) and hook up the wake on lan cable, turned it on and went into the bios and turned on power management to turn on wol. When it went into chronic reboot I took out the wol cable and turned the power management off. I have it shut down right now. PC heal thyself........

leave it unpluged, maybe you'll get lucky like i did. haha. check your voltages....one thing about mine when it did that, it would let me into bios, i think part of my problem had to do with my whack voltages, vcore of 1.88 on an un-overclocked amd and my rails were high too. is that one of those dell NIC's that people got for like $0.78? cuz i have two of them and i like em :)
