win2k reporting wrong free space??

i am running win2000 on a NTFS partition, just deleted 500+ mb of files from a FAT partition but explorer is only reporting 130mb of free space!! 🙁

can someone suggest an explanation or fix for this??

btw, i am using a maxtor diamondmax plus 20gb hdd
 
mOrphine, maybe that 500+ MB of files you deleted is still sitting in your Recycle Bin? Files in the Recycle Bin aren't actually deleted yet, just moved into a special place. Try emptying your Recycle Bin and see if that frees up the space.
