Win2K Registry question

I have a couple of Win2K questions. I've never used Win2K much but I need to uninstall Sukhoi's Lan install from the few machines it is installed on so I can do a network-wide install with the flex-installer.

Is it possible to edit a system's registry over the network? Can I start and stop services over the network? I will have administrator access....

If this is possible, could you include an explanation of how I would do this?

To edit a registry remotely, run REGEDT32.EXE then choose Registry/Select Computer... from the menu. You'll need rights to the remote computer to do this (i.e. logged in as a domain admin). For services, you can run Start/Programs/Administrative Tools/Computer Management then pick Action/Connect to another computer... from the menu. I think this lets you stop/start services on the remote computer but I'm not 100% sure.

Right click on 'My Computer' on your local machine, go to 'manage', then do what he says above to connect to the remote computer. Set the service to disabled. It's easier than going through the registry. If you really really need to remove it fully then do what he says above to connect to the registry on the remote machine and then go to

HKLM\system\currentcontrolset\services\

and then delete the appropriate key under there.

SoulAssassin,

That sounds a bit easier. All I want to do is make it so that the keyboard2 service from Sukhoi's Lan install doesn't start up and no error messages are given. So, if I disable the keyboard2 service and delete the keyboard2 directory, will that do it? Presumably at that point, I'd be safe to install using the flexinstaller?
