win2k questions

my computer boots up pretty quickly, but when the inital windows shell loads in 2k, where it says
'checking network devices" or whatever it says, it takes forever. I have a cable modem and a small home lan with my sister. Any ideas?

Sorry, if that's what I think it is, there's no solution but to leave your system on all the time. No big deal

Disable any services you don't need.
