Win2k Pro Update sp error

HI guys ,
At first my system have windows 2k pro sp1 on it. Recently i try to update to sp4 by using windows update ..and end up with blue screen. So i tried download sp3 ... and still end up with blue screen... someone have any idea how to solve this problem ? pls... help ...

hi ,
i cant actually remember wats is BSod ...i think is something like missing dll ...i was totally unable to boot into windows.

There were several issues like this. I know that if one particular in-built Windows system service was disabled at the time of installing SP4, then it would BSOD upon boot. There were also some issues with various popular 3rd-party software being on the machine.

My personally preference is to slip-stream service packs in with the original OS installation CD to make a new installation CD, and then do a fresh install. Installing SPs overtop seems to just invite "issues".

Or tell us what the BSOD said. You've given us the equivalent of saying my car is broken please help fix it.

yeah ..i know sorry about that , cause the pc is at my working place ..and i dont really have a chance to see that BSOD. I just saw once it just say something dll missing ..thats all i can remember ... thats why i just have to try any solution .... actually another BSOD was saying something like ..boot directory error ?
