make DOS boot disk.

Run from DOS. NT does not allow root-level hardware access.

Always run a flash from a DOS boot floppy (don't make the floppy with w2k).

The live update utilities to update from full running NT have had a checkered past. The first version failed on SOME P3V4X's. The next ver seemed to work most of time. I'm beginning to think that multi-boot machines may be part of prob.
I assume CUSL2 also new probs.
You may try disable video bios shadow in bios first.
