any way to login to win2k w/o a password? this pc has been sitting for a while and i forgot the password i set on it.. any way to log onto it?

I cant remember off the top of my head, but there is a version of linux that fits on a floppy and will allow you boot up with it, see all files, copy to floppy or woteva you feel like mounting. then view it with another windows machine ... Boo-Yaa-Ca. Hope this helps, I found this info by googling so good luck on the details.
 
If you have another computer that you can use, I would take the hard drive from the computer in question and put into another computer as a secondary drive. At this point, you can boot into the OS from the 2nd computer and the drive from the first computer will just be another drive letter. You can then save anything you want to and then put it back into the original computer and re-install an OS on it.
 
A simple way to logon if you dont want to have to revuild the pc and want it to run is to take the drive out, place it in another pc.
Then delete the local SAM file.

Once this is done all accounts will be wiped and set with a default password of nothing...blank.....
