win2k paging file problem

I have win2k sp3, NTFS.


Everything was fine until two days ago:

I got a warning message after login: no paging file found and win2k uses 20meg default size. I tried to change it, but it didn't take it.

I checked Microsoft web site and found I have to change the file control to full control with "administrators" and "system". I did, but still no luck.

I was in administrator login, rebooted many times, checked pagingfile.sys, the file stayed in date Jan. 6.

Anybody can help?

Ensure the system account has full control to the root of the drive.

To avoid future problems, ensure the Everyone group has at least read access to the root of all drives as well.
