Well, if you're an avid gamer, Win98SE, I feel is the best OS for gaming, though if you want stability and not having to reboot your PC often and not so much an avid gamer, Win2K is good choice. Though you should try and find a modem that does work with Win2K if you're into working on the net etc..

If you only play certain games then I think win2k would be great for you... you would be amazed by it's stability over win9x...

But then again, make sure all your hardware works before making the switch... or else you would waste your time install win2k, find out it doesn't work and have to switch back to win9x...

good luck!

The All-In-Wonder Pro is a natural B1TCH to get working (and keep working) under W2K. There are "non-supported" W2K drivers available from ATI but they're flakey at best. Another thing to consider is that W2K likes LOTS of memory. 128 should be considered a bare minimum for W2K. Everything you show except for the Voodoo card I've worked with under W2K without too much trouble.

I dual boot because I can't get my Sony CRX145E to burn in W2k.
Causes me to do partitioning that i'd rather not do such as keep Fat32 and ntfs.

Even so, I can count how many times a day I would have had to reboot if I had been using W98.
I normally stay in 2k.

Dual booting to W98 is a cinch and only uses 2G partition for W98 stuff.
