win2k newbie:

I'm thinking about buying a copy of Win2k and using it for a bit. What copy would suit my needs for a desktop only? I've got my linux box doing NAT and ftp/web server stuff. I mostly just use opera and netscape mail, but also play some counterstrike now and then. Would professional be a good distro? Can I tell it not to install its bootloader and let bootmagic load it?
Thanks

And how does Win2k treat the MBR when you install it? Does it just take over like 95/98 does?
Thanks again

Is it aware my previous os might be linux? I don't want it touching the master boot record at all as I have a loader of choice already, can I make it install to its partition?

It should recognize that linux was there before hand. In any case, you can also make a boot disk for linux so that even if win2k doesn't recognize linux (which it might just very well do seeing as how it isn't very friendly to OS competition) you can boot from the floppy and start linux that way. Just about the same effect as software "dual booting".
