Seems like fewer & fewer programs will run properly on successive versions of windows... especially games...

It seems kind of stupid to me that intel puts all this effort into making their processors backwards compatible when MS screws it all up with their gimpy OSs anyways.

If your gonna yell at win 2k, you should come up with some games that don't work with it.

I have been running it for a year, and its the best choice i made yet. I can run my computer for MONTHS, without rebooting or crashing...and I play a ton of games also.

I know for a fact that Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty won't install on the my copy of win2k. Nothing wrong with the OS, but the install program won't let me proceed. Cheeky bastards. You won't hear me complaining about win2k though, best version of windows yet.

IMO, I think there are a lot of incompatabilities with Win2k because most SW developers are gearing up for XP, which is what Win2k was really supposed to be and figure why develop for this POS os when soemthing better and more stable is coming down the line. Remember, Win2k was supposed to be the one OS for all until MS changed their minds at the last minute. Thats whyWinXP is coming out so fast after Win2k and WinME. This is my opinion so you little Win2k fanatics need not reply.

In my line of work, gopunk, I need to use basically all of MS's oses. At home, for networking only, I use Win2k Advanced server, for games I use Win98SE, for games that dont work well or at all under Win98SE I use WinME. I have a few workstation that are Win2k that are used for ADS setup and testing. For any heavy photo editing, video editing and audio editing/recording I use WinME. Not one of these oses can do it all so I basically have to use all of them. When I can play all my games in Linux (which probably will never happen) I would switch to that. No, I am NOT a Linux zealot. Maybe Windows 3000 will be able to do it all. Hmmmm.....Maybe I should get a MAC...j/k hehehe. :)

i just read that rollercoaster tycoon won't run in w2k without a patch. Any my friend says she can't run betrayal at krondor on her system.

Everyone i know who's used it says they like w2k but for an "advanced OS" you'd think they could program some backward compatability into it. At least include an emulator or VM or whatever.

Dammit if hard hat mack doesn't run on win2k i'm gonna get mad!

W2K is not a primary game platform. For that you need Win98SE or ME. Win2K is for business first, play second, "By Design". Set your computer up to dual boot to play games. I use W2K and hate shutting down like I just did to replace a Kaput trackball PS2 type. If you get married, you will get divorced for trying to make your spouse into something that he or she is not.
