Win2K IE 5.5 Problems...

Last night I was trying to burn a copy of WindowsME for a friend and it lockedup and refused to burn. I tryed closing Adaptec Cd Copy but it wouldnt let me and wouldnt let me shut down until it had finished burning. So I had to hit the reset button and start over.

Now, when I try and open IE from any shortcuts it says "IEXPLORER.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows. You must restart the program. An error log will be created"

First off, where on earth is it putting the error log for me to read? Secondly I can only open IE through a favorite icon, but not the Explorer.exe. Anyone know how to repair IE so I dont have to reinstall 2K?

Start>Programs>Administrative Tools>Event Viewer

You can try booting from the win2k CD, going into repair and selecting Fast Repair. That might do it.

Go to Add/Remove Programs -> Double click on Internet Explorer 5.5 -> it should allow you to perform a reinstall to repair any errors. Or just go download it again, and run the setup.
