clean installed win2kpro, both of my ide cd & cdr were detected as scsi drive, when install office2k got setup.exe error, and cdrwin doesn't work, doesn't detect the aspi driver.
1) how to change the drive letters?
2) anyway i can set the cds as ide drive manually?
pls help, thx!!

You need to manually install an ASPI layer in Windows2000. Search google for "Force ASPI". Does it matter if they're listed as SCSI so long as they work?

It can be hard to find sometimes cause adaptec goes after people who post it. If you're quick, you can grab it from here.

aspi driver fixed, thx.
still any one can help changing drive letters? any how to set cds back to ide instead of what win2k detected manually. still got setup.exe problem in office2k.

Win2K will detect the drives as SCSI. Just ignore it.

To change drive letters, do Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Computer Management and on the left there will be something for Disk Management. You can change your drive letters there.

Right click the drive button on the bottom pane, click "Change Drive Letter and Path"

Couldn't come up with that on your own? :Q

where to begin, what should i look for, .............
already spend more than 6 hour on setting up everything a bit tired, >>>>
did what was told still couldn't get it.

got it now!!!
but why am i getting setup error on office2k, i have no problems installing in win98, any help??
