Win2k - Hard Lock on Shockwave Webpages - any solution?

ok, ive had this problem for awhile... on 2 different installs.. one with ACPI one without ACPI. if I go to www.shockwave.com and set there it will lock the computer up hard within seconds. this is not the only time it happens.. sometimes happens while doing other things like viewing video clips, or while sending instant messages with ICQ. I know at least one other person here has had this problem.

256m mushkin rev2 cas2
geforce 256
Tbird 900
netgear fa310tx nic
isa USR sportster internal modem
