Win2k gaming

i finally relented and installed win2k as my primary os, but i am having a heck of time trying to get games (mainly RTS) to work. most games crash within five minutes. are there any tricks/tweaks to make win2k gaming friendly.

here the specs

abit kt7r w/ duron 1gh @1200
radeon le 32ddr
vortex2 (fixed drivers)
640mb ram

games civ3,crimson skies,CCred alert,
 
Service Pack 2 and the Application Compatibity updates?



I know that C&C Red Alert doesn't work under Win2K 🙁
 
i have installed directx8.1nt, sp2, sr3, ie6, 4.38(2),

utilities: x-setup, tweakui 1.33, Rage3d 3.1e and startup CPL

 
have 3 fans in here. cpu,vc and side intake. i could put in a case fan if i could figure out a way to get the case off. temp is 41c

its also taking too long to shut down/restart.

 
What is the rating of your power supply? I had a 250w and about five minutes into RTS games, Age of Empires 2, CIV3, my system would restart itself. Turns out the 250 wasn't enough, replaced it with a Antec 300w and the problem vanished.
