What is the absolutely unequivocably 100% confirmed truth whether Quake 2 will run on WIN2K (or run as well as in WIN98)?

i can tell you that it definitely runs, yes

as far as the "as well as win98" question, i don't know. i still get 50+ frames per second at 1024x768 in quake2 in win2k..and i'd call that pretty darn acceptable.

It'll definitely run in Win2000, whether it'll run as well as under (X depends quite a bit on the individual video card in use.

yeah, that's a good point as well.

for instance, my matrox g400 has "turgo gl" drivers that only work in 98...they add many fps to quake2

whereas no such "super duper" drivers exist for my g400 in win2k...it's a trade-off
