Win2k G400 DH Problem **i think**

When I try to install Win2k (Boot to CD or choose "clean install" in WIndows), my system hard locks on the hardware detection screen...I believe this is due to my video card in some way, since it installed fine when I was only using the on-board video. I am using the most updated BIOS for my video card, but I haven't updated my mobo BIOS yet. Any suggestions?

I tried non-overclocked and got the same problem....

I'd say it's could be your mobo BIOS. I've got a
G400DH running on a P3V4X. I didn't have any trouble
installing Win2000 on my system, C366@555.

Try having BIOS load it's defaults too, and play with enabling/disabling power management and/or ACPI first, and other integrated stuff at last resort.

If you can, take out the scsi card from the mobo during the win2k install. I installed win2k for a friend and the scsi card was messing around with the install, said it was missing files and such. Also during the hardware install, just as the blue screen comes up, it says something like 'press F6 to install third party scsi drivers' try that and install the drivers for the scsi card if you didn't like my first sugestion.

I updated the BIOS and then it got past the hardware detection screen...then I had a whole bunch of wackiness ensue due to my foolishness (trying to triple boot 98/2K/Be Pro 5) which i am in the process of straightening out....thanks for the suggestions!
