Win2k DVD problem (radeon)

I can't seem to play any dvd's with ATI's dvd player or the one that comes with Windows 2k pro. DVDs worked perfectly back when i had Win98 SE..

I haven't tried Powerdvd or windvd yet tho... but i get this msgbox error.

Playback has failed due to the one of the following problems:
1) Audio device is in use or not installed.
2) Display overlay is not available.
3) Not enough video memory

BTW. Using 3092 Drivers. Also..

Everyone who saids Radeon Win2k drivers are bad, that is not really true.

I am a heavy gamer and only lost like 5-8 fps in quake 3 timedemo compared to when I had Win98 SE. 🙂

Thanks all.

I have the exact same problem and have seen a lot of posts about this issue. HAve you found the answer?

if you guys need PowerDVD then PM me. It might solve your problem.. I'll try PowerDVD in W2K and see if there's gonna be any problem.. But I doubt that there'll be any problems though.

I've tried WinDvd 2.2 and it studders like a 90 year old man during an epileptic seizure in win2k. Don't know why, though, cause I have a 12x dvd running UDMA mode on a PIII 800mhz.

I think the 3092 drivers "broke" the DVD player...=) Either go back to the other drivers or use WinDVD (I guess that works?).
