Win2K .dll error: Entry Point Not Found

Whenever I open Frontpage I get this error.
http://www.boredtechs.com/images/entrypointnotfound.gif
What I read up on it is that the .dll was overwritten by some program that doesn't check the dll version number of that file. The version of msvct.dll that I have is older than the version that is on the windows 2000 installation disc which means that some program (probably ezcd 4.0) overwrote that dll.
The problem I have is that I can't copy over that file with the new one because it is being used by the system. I have tried booting in to repair mode but the system is still holding on to that file. If I boot with a win98 boot disk, I can't see the C: drive because it is ntfs. I have also tried installing a few different programs that i know have the newer dll file but they don't update it either... There is something really weird going on here...
Any suggestions as to how I can update this file?
Do I need to run a windows repair or reinstall?
Please help out here...
Thanks...

Front Page 2000 right? I've seen this problem before, a few times. Run any Office 2000 application, go to Help, then select Detect and Repair. After it has done its job, you should be able to use FP2K.

I have actually tried this twice now to no avail...
No program seems to want to update this older version of the dll. I can't believe that the system allowed it to be overwritten in the first place and now it won't allow it again.
If anybody has any other suggestions then please let me know...

Run up a command prompt and type in SFC/?
I dunno if you'll need the win2k cdrom or not.
This may or may not work.

Good luck.

Had the same problem, after installing Palm Desktop. I suspect it had todo with the Intel ATA Beta drivers, because then I reformated and reinstalled W2K, with the same programs, the problem did not reappear. I was even able to install Palm Desktop. I have banned the Intel Ultra ATA drivers for my W2K setup. They work fine in W98SE but not in W2K.
I might be totally wrong, thought.

OK, I finally fixed the problem...

I booted to the windows 2000 setup disks.
Clicked R for repair
Clicked C for console
Once in, I copied the good dll file that I had from the windows 2000 cd to the system32 folder where the bad dll file was located. It replaced it and I rebooted. Everything works fine now finally.
Let me know if you have any problems with these instructions.
Thanks for all your help and suggestions...
