Hardware:
Abit KT7-Raid
TBird 1000MHz
Asus V7700 Deluxe Geforce GTS 2
256MB 133MHz RAM
+++
at the moment i've got asus v5.33 driver installed and via service pack (via 4-in-1 from abit cd) installed. Have also tried reference v6.18 and via 4-in-1 v4.24 with no luck.

I was able to finish 3DMark 2000 without any crashes before I installed via service pack, but with a very poor result = 3200. When I installed the VIA drivers I never got past game 1, crashing or just returning to windows 2000 desktop.

Also got a few lockups now and then...

Anyone got any solutions??

Well all i can say is (and along with other sites) you're lucky 3dmark2000 ran in w2k cause it's not made to and hense the poor results you got.

I as well cannot run 3dmark2000. i don't know why though, my system is perfectly stable running q3 or other games u'd think 3dmark2000 would run.. try going to back to the other VIA drivers if they were working fine before, that's always an easy solution.. if you want to keep the new ones and games and everything work... well screw 3dmark then, it's pretty useless anyways.

Well, I will have to test more Direct 3D stuff, like more games and see if the Direct 3D is f*cked or not. I had the same problems when I installed a Duron 600 og KT7 with win2k, 3dmark dropouts, and also very poor Direct 3D performance... going back to Win98se fixed all Direct 3D issues, but i DON't want to go back to win98se on this computer!!!

This use to happen to me also, Win2k V5. I was using WHQL drivers at that time, now I'm using latest beta Win2k drivers. Now I'm able to loop 3DMark for 12hours without a problem. Point, you may want to try an older version?

Win2k V5? V5 as in NT v5.0 or V5 as in Voodoo5 ?

Ok, so it should run in win2k. Hmmm..

think I've tried all drivers available, high and low.. This realy bugs me.

found a page on the web saying via 4in1 4.23, then detonator 3, then 4.24. I'¨m not sure.. gonna try it anyway.

You need to install SP1 for W2K, as it fixes a d3d glitch from your original install of W2K. Now for speed, try installing one of the DX8 betas (preferably beta 1.40) for W2K. And remember, that with the use of any of the 6.x reference drivers, you'll have to first disable AGP Fast Writes in the bios, install the video drivers, do the registry hack for 4X AGP, then re-enable AGP Fast Writes in the Bios.
