Win2k "Delayed Write Failed"

I got this error for some weird reason

Delayed Write Failed
Windows was unable to save all the data for the file
\Device\HarddiskVolume2\$mft The data has been lost.
This error may be caused by a failure of your computer
hardware or network connection.

I rebooted and the drive that had an error was detected by bios
but never showed up when i booted into win2k. the drive was not
even in the admintool->computer management

The drive just disappeared. How can i fix this error? I do not
want to lose the data on the drive...

I checked the wiring. Everything is ok.
thanks

I had that problem.. no one has been able to help at all.. I now think it's a harddrive failure, even tho my harddrive is only two months old.

Every time I've gotten or seen that message, it has been a physical drive failure. I'd be looking at running a DFT and perhaps preparing to RMA it.
