My computer also reboots sometimes automatically. could it be because of my 250wattt power supply? i have a ton of cards in my computer and a lot of hardware. could my computer be underpowered?

THANKS for any input!

Do a search in this forum or in the Windows help files for ACPI and turn off auto-reboot.

Normally, an automatic reboot means that the PS can't hack it. Your 250W is a maybe as for having enough power but I am guessing it does.

W2k reboots automatically on errors unless you change the setting in the computer properties. Then, you will get a blue screen instead of a reboot.

As for the blue screen, my guess is that it is related to unstable drivers, OC, or both. First, clock normal and see of the problem goes away. If not, try switching drivers.........specifically, update your sblive drivers to the most current. The older ones DO cause trouble.

good luck...jeremy806

Nonsense. I have my system packed, and it is still crankin with a 230W power supply. Nic, modem, sound, scsi, ultra66, GF2MX (all slots full), P2 450, CDROM, CDRW, 2 Maxtor 13G HD, 1 Quantum 30 G, usb stuff...stable as a rock (except for win2k)

What...you expect a stable system when it's run beyond specs?

diablo II and starcraft seem more unstable in win2k than win98. as a matter of fact starcraft crashes to desktop more in winme than 98 too. imo win98 is best gaming platform,
