Win2K Crap-out!?!?!

I recently installed Win2K on my HP Pavilion 8570C. It is a PIII 450 - 96MB RAM. It had Win98SE installed.

I actually did a fresh install for Win2K, so everything was deleted to start fresh. After the install it works great for a day or so, but then the next time I go to turn the computer on, Win2K gets frozen in the baby blue start-up screen with an hour glass next to my mouse pointer.

I am about to throw the computer out my window, so any help would be deeply appreciated!!

Thank you!!

I don't knowwhy it worked for a day or two, because the actual MS system requirements state a minimum of 128MB. Link

Edit: Not...that was Win2K Server. Pro required 64MB. Sorry... 😱

(Sorry for the late reply...I was in school)

Well, I'm not sure what else you've done. Did you update anything at all after Win2K installation? I'm talking about SP2, drivers, and Windows updates. If so, then you might want to test your memory using MemTest86. It installs to a floppy disk, so you don't need to run it within Windows. Just make sure to read the instructions from the website.

One more thing, did you double post on purpose or frustration? Because moderators don't like that, and it wastes bandwidth. Just bump the post, for future reference. Good hunting!
