Me and my brothers comps can no longer see each other. They were first both on win2000 AS/Pro (respectfully). But when my bro upgraded to XP we could no longer see each other in Network Neighborhood or ping'ing ect. We are set up on a linksys switch which then connectes to a cisco dsl router. If any more info is needed please ask i'll tell you any settings ect. Thanks for any and all help.

my guess is that one or both of the computers is set to automatically obtain ip address and one machine has a 192.168.0.xxx address while the other has a 169.254.xxx.xxx address. set both of them to use a 192.168.0.xxx address and you should be good to go.

Yeah, if they cant ping eachother his XP box probably doesnt have an IP. By default XP only uses TCP/IP and if they dont both IPs that are on the same subnet (you cannot ping eachother directly over a P2P network) you will never be able to see eachother through NN.

Good Luck
