Why would you even want a beta? Is there anything wrong with your system? I wouldn't even upgrade to W2K SP1 since it's such a big patch. My comp been runnig solid for a few months now.
 
This is absolute BS. That bug number is greatly exaggerated. As for how critical those bugs are, I'd say they are towards the bottom of the totem pole. As for software testing, what does it matter to you? If you were serious about it, you'd have an MSDN subscription already. If you just want to brag, you're not the type who needs it. Just stick with the final. You probably don't need that either, but you're the type who'll gladly apply a bucketload of patches to his/her computer for no reason, right?
 
I am the type of guy who works for a software company.. a comapny that like microshaft, hurried to release thier 2k software that was full of bugs. My job is to beta test, and also give technical support to users that call up. As for microshafts amount of bugs, you look it up.. the number is way up there. For every 3 fixes for a bug, another one pops up.
