Win2k and VIA 4 in 1 drivers....Do they get along?

Yes you need to install them to get the most perfomance from your VIA board.

The 4.27's and up perform the best in W2K. Be aware though that 4.25 and up is still in beta. They work fine though and i'm currently running 4.28.

I've had zero problems with everything from the 4.24s to the 4.28's. Currently running 4.28 on my kt7-raid.

Flawless...been weeks since my 2kpro box has needed a reboot, and that's only when I tweak.

On my system MSI K7T Pro2-A, I'm running Via 4-in-1 v4.28a (BETA) and Windows 2000 Server without any problems. System is extremely stable and doesn't give me any problems.

I agree with RaymondY the 4.28 is indeed very stable and fast from W2K. I would recommend to stay away from the 4.27 as this version had some installation problems for me (a missing cat file but nothing serious)

i have a a7v board an 2k-pro
tried to install the 4.28 and that ata 100 driver
change my ide drivers to ata drivers and it changed the properties on my kenwood cdrom to scsi cd rom? is this right?

One problem that i had too was once and awile on boot up it said i removed one of my cdroms inccorectly? this is my yammaha burner not the kenwood that this problem happens too.

i have a ata 1oo hard drive and a ata 66 drive should i just use 4.28's or is there somethong i missed?
sorry for bad english THANKYOU

im sorry.. i checked via's site and they only seem to have 4.25a (which is what im currently running) where to i find 4.28?

thanx
neems

man this via 4 in 1 didn't even work for my Abit K7T, it some how would recognize that I am using UDMA instead of PIO mode, if you're asking me if I select the Use UDMA if available well i did, after restarting the computer it just say am in PIO mode again.

Questions for Raymond Y since he has my setup
How do I set my logon to something other than Administrator
Why do I have to always hit CRTL ALT DEL to get to Password
And is there a way to get rid of the error viewer which always starts up - perhaps something like MSconfig in WinMe(something about one of my HW devices not set up right even though I can't see where).

Its made my harddrive corrupt but right now I am using ata 100 driver from MS hotfix, pre SP2, I believe it is beta too, but work fine for me
