WIn2k AND tribes

I just tried to play tribes but when I played a game the landscape was all messed up.
dell inspiron 4000
win 2k
directx 8
ati 8 meg video card

I tried new drivers and that didn't fix it anybody know what it could be?
ati driver version 5.0.1048
build M6.31.44-T01
 
Buy a 3dfx V3 and play the game it was intended to be played. You problem is mostly likely the fact that ATI doesn't know how to make Win2k drivers yet.
 
I like to see somebody try to put a v3 in a notebook.

But i was thinking it was probably a win2k/ati driver issue
 
arod,a quick fix would be to install Win98,but I know you won`t.
LOL... on the V3 card & notebook.
 
It may not make a dif. tribes looked crappy on a lot of non 3dfx cards even in 98.

Gaps in the ground texture everyplace, dont get me started on how it looked with a g200 or riva128.
 
If you still get problems all I can suggest is have you downloaded the latest patch? (1.11) I believe.
