win2k and service pack

I'm going to attempt to install win2k for the first time. I'm going to reformat and dual boot win2k and 98 (maybe eventually linux).

but I did a bit of search and read that if you're going to dual boot, you have to install a service pack for win2k. so what is this all about? and where can I get the most updated service pack?

you dont have to have the latest service pack if you want to dual boot. install 98 first and install 2000 onto a separate partition after.

thanks for the tip. but to satisfy my curiosity, why would you need a service pack when installing w2k first and then 98?

You do not need the sp to dual boot with 95b if you load 95b first, I don't know about 98. It is easier to load 9x first so that the 2k loader can detect it automatically when it's installed.

I set up a tri-boot with 95b on my primary (C) part, 2k on the first logical part and BeOS on the 2nd logical part. Works fine. Later I did the sp1 thing, and nothing changed for me.
