I'm going to install a new mobo in my computer.
Do I have to reinstall my windows or can I just delete everything in the device manager, shutdown, change motherboard and hope that everything is detected?

I would recomend a clean new install, but sometimes the option you speak of works...not often but sometimes.

Usually works OK as long as the w2k drive letter comes up the same, boot.ini still points to the w2k partition, and the MB IDE controller is unchanged. Look for Q249694 (How to Move a Windows 2000 Installation to Different Hardware) in MS KB.
