Win2000/WinXP HDD Problem

Alright, well, my problem is:

I've got two hard drives, a 200 gig "Primary" and an 80 gig "Secondary."

I installed Windows XP (Formatted NTFS) on the Primary about 8 months or so ago, can't remember. Anyway, I had put in the new Secondary HD and formatted that NTFS for video editing projects, etc.
About a month or two back, I installed Windows 2000 (Also formatted NTFS) on the Secondary HD, for the purpose of having a backup OS in case my main (Windows XP) decides to do stupid stuff like kill itself. But what's weird is, I cannot see the Windows XP drive when I'm rebooted into Windows 2000. They're both NTFS, and they should both work, but when I boot into W2K and attempt to access the drive, it shows up as "Local Disk (E:)" instead of the actual label, "Primary HD (E:)".
In addition, the error "E:\ is not accessible. The parameter is incorrect." pops up.

If I try again, I get "E:\ is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable." even though I can still boot XP from the drive and use it as normal.

Also, I can see and use the Secondary HD from XP without errors or flaws.

Anyone got any ideas? Thanks in advance.

At any point in time did you 'compress' the XP drive through the Local Disk Properties?

2000 and XP use different versions of NTFS natively. XP uses 5.1 while 2k uses 5.0. While XP can read NTFS 5.0 2000 cannot read 5.1. I think I remember that one of the SP's for 2000 fixed this problem. Make sure you are using the latest service packs.

Hmm, I'm running win2k SP4 and winXP sp2.

There are no more critical updates in my win2k's software update, and the problem is still occurring. hmm...

Any disk management software?

Also..did you maybe make the disk a dynamic drive by accident? Check in XP to see if it is set as dynamic.

Nope, no disk management software.

How do you check if it's dynamic?

I opened up diskmgmt.msc and it shows both drives as Type: Basic.
