Win XP "saving pictures" issue

Recently my computer encountered a change in behavior when I try to save pictures from websites. It used to be that when I right-click and select "save picture", it would save as a jpg file with the file name equal to the picture's actual name.

but now, when I do this, no matter what the picture, it saves as a bmp and with the name "untitled". What happened, and how can I make it work like it did before? I can't save these as jpgs either... the drop down in the file type box ONLY allows me to select bmp.

Internet Explorer saves images as bitmaps (.bmp Files)

The solution is to clear your browser cache.
